Joseph T. Saffa World War II Diary

Scope and Contents The diary consists of one pre-printed, five-year diary and seven sheets of paper added to the volume. It dates from 17 December 1940 to 16 December 1941. The first entry, 17 December 1940, appears at the end of the volume in accordance with the calendar in the printed diary. The Dr. Sudha J. Sagar Collection contains photographs documenting Sagar's family, both in Chennai, India (formerly known as Madras) and in the United States. Photographs show Sagar; her husband, Dr. Satya Sagar; her daughter, Usha; her parents, Sivarama Sastry and Rajeswaram Vepa; her grandparents; and other friends and family. Photos include formal and informal photos of individuals and groups. Photos show individuals wearing pieces of clothing that were also donated to MHS.
