The papers include letters of Frank and Nellie Below, 1924-1926 (including Nellie’s letters describing her trip to Europe); letters of Louis and Dorcas Wolf, 1922-1926; the correspondence of Augustus Hager Bryant, 1924-1938; business papers regarding the Simmons Hardware Company, 1895-1923; Frank Below’s garden/farm journal, 1896; Keen Kutter poetry; 1st Missouri Home Guard Regiment papers, ca. 1915; maps; certificates of membership and stock; and photographs and family memorabilia.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists primarily of correspondence of the Morrison-Steen-Little family, including two letters of Kit Carson to Mrs. Georgiana Steen. The collection also contains several poems.

Scope and Contents The Original Papers (Boxes 1-3) consist mainly of correspondence of Sara Teasdale to her husband Ernst B. Filsinger (1914-1931) relating to her work and personal life, often written while Ernst was traveling around the world for business. She discusses her health, works in progress, her publications, friends and family, and her thoughts on contemporary poets. This collection consists of papers both belonging to, and collected by, Henry W. Williams, including his correspondence and scrapbooks, various items from the Civil War, and papers regarding steamboats and financial markets.
