The collection contains one invitation and accompanying envelope to the dedication of the Airplane Gun Turret Plant built by the Emerson Electric Manufacturing Company on September 7, 1942. The ceremony included the unveiling of a portrait of Capt. Colin P. Kelly, Jr. The invitation includes an engraving of Kelly’s portrait and a tribute to the war hero written by Gen. Henry “Hap” Arnold.

Scope and Contents The papers contain manuals and publications relating to airplanes and spacecraft along with personal materials about McDonnell Aircraft Corporation test pilot and engineer, Gilbert B. (Bert) North. The papers are arranged alphabetically and date from 1941 to 2007. The bulk of the materials date from 1964 to 1978. North’s aviator logbook spans a large number of years. Scope and Contents The Kenneth Schlarman Photograph Collection contains 30 photographs documenting McDonnell Aircraft Corporation and McDonnell Douglas Corporation aircraft and employees, primarily during the 1960s. The photographs were collected by Schlarman during his career as a radio operator with McDonnell and then McDonnell Douglas.
