Scope and Contents

The Kenneth Schlarman Photograph Collection contains 30 photographs documenting McDonnell Aircraft Corporation and McDonnell Douglas Corporation aircraft and employees, primarily during the 1960s. The photographs were collected by Schlarman during his career as a radio operator with McDonnell and then McDonnell Douglas. Most photographs show aircraft, either on the McDonnell Aircraft Corporation flight ramp or in flight. Aircraft shown include the AV-8B Harrier II jet attack plane, the F-4 Phantom jet fighter plane, the Model 188 transport aircraft, and the F-15 Eagle jet fighter plane, as well as several prototype helicopters and gyroplanes. Photographs of employees, including Kenneth Schlarman, show men in the McDonnell Aircraft Corporation ramp control room; an award being presented to Schlarman; and a group photograph. Several exterior views of the ramp control room are also included. The collection also includes two photographs of a 1963 baseball game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants.
