The collection consists of correspondence of Braxton Bragg, primarily to his wife, that documents his Civil War service in Louisiana, Florida, Kentucky and Tennessee. It also includes several items regarding Bragg's home, Greenwood Plantation, in Louisiana.

Kelion Franklin Peddicord Papers
Collection includes several letters of Kelion F. Peddicord to his family while he was imprisoned during the Civil War; letters of fellow war veterans R.M.J. Arnette, G.H. Blakeslee, and J. Ogden Murray, to Peddicord; and correspondence to and from Kelion Peddicord’s sister Mrs. India P. Logan. Collection also contains rolls and reminiscences compiled by Peddicord regarding his military service and that of his unit.

The bulk of the correspondence dates from the Civil War years and contains letters of George Wyckoff, while serving in the 18th Missouri Infantry, and other soldiers in Iowa, Indiana, and Missouri regiments.
