The R.J. Walker Photograph Collection contains 162 photographs documenting Walker’s World War I service with the 314th Engineer Regiment of the 89th Infantry Division and with the post-war occupation army in the German Rhineland. The photographs document training activities at Camp Funston in Kansas; construction of bridges and other activities of the 314th Engineers; war damage in Rheims and smaller towns in the French countryside; German towns and civilians post-war; General Pershing’s review of the 89th Division at Trier, Germany on April 23, 1919; and the 314th Engineers' trip home on the USS Montana.
