Biography

Robert John Walker was born on May 31, 1896 in St. Louis. He lived with his parents and older sister and worked for the Electric Company. He entered the US Army on September 20, 1917 as a private in Company 5 164 Depot Brigade 89 Division and was transferred to Company F 314 Engineers 89 Division on October 15, 1917. He was promoted to Corporal on September 1, 1918 and Sargeant First Class on May 1, 1919. His military service included Lucey Sector France August 8 - September 11, 1918, St. Mihiel Offensive September 12 - 16, 1918, Euyezen Sector September 17 - October 7, 1918, Meuse Argonne Offensive October 19 to November 11, 1918 and the Army of Occupation from December 4 to May 10, 1919. Robert Walker passed away June 1973, he lived at the same address - 2720 Ann Ave, St. Louis, his entire life. He is buried in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in St. Louis.
