Requesting that you encourage your editors to republish enclosed two copies of two essays on our South Western boundary, of which I am the author. Your anxiety must be extreme to remove that foreign boundary, which is now parallel to your coast and approaches so near to it. Legislative memorials, or resolutions, condemning the Treaty of 1819 and recommending the reacquisition of the country then thrown away, will have a good effect.
