Letter signed Thos. F. Drayton, San Antonio, to Lt. W. Van Phul, Houston. Had your letter reached me in due course of the mail I could have made your brother one of my aids. When your letter arrived, I had already filled up the vacancies in my personal staff. I go tomorrow to the lower valley of the Rio Grande and will not return for 3 or 4 weeks.
