Scope and Contents From the Collection: The collection includes letters, postcards, and V-mails from Francis Charles Weidler to his fiancé, Lucille Simons, dated 1942-1945, while he was in the Air Force during World War II. The letters dated 1942-1943 were written while he was in basic training, and the letters dated 1944-1945 were mostly written from France and England and mention D-Day and life back home.
