Emergency Access Card / Vaccine Information, 2020 / 2021
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of one Pfizer emergency access card and vaccine literature given to Pfizer family members during the first on-site COVID-19 vaccination event. The items date from 2020 and 2021. On March 23, 2020, Pfizer issued an emergency access card to senior scientist Marc Perez of Fenton. During the St. Louis County shelter in place order, Perez and a several co-workers reported to Pfizer’s Chesterfield site. Perez worked on the first step of the vaccine, creating the template DNA that was then used to produce the mRNA which ultimately comprised the vaccine. The sticker “I Got My COVID-19 Vaccine!” and social media guidelines and the two pages of CDC vaccine information were given to Kristina Perez, Marc’s wife, when she received her first COVID-19 vaccine at the Pfizer Chesterfield site on March 30, 2021.
