The papers consist of correspondence, fliers, and cards related to protests, politics, meetings, lectures, and a play related to Ferguson, Missouri, and police brutality. There are also several fliers from the national and Ferguson-St. Louis chapter of The Stop Mass Incarceration Network. The papers date from August 2014 to May 2015; the folders are arranged alphabetically.

Ms. Stewart wrote letters to police officials in St. Louis County, the City of St. Louis, and New York City relating to the death of Kajieme Powell and the abuse of Kahreem Tribble. In her letter dated August 14th, Ms. Stewart explains her experience on the previous day at the protest in Ferguson. She collected fliers distributed by The Stop Mass Incarceration Network, the Black is Back Coalition, Ferguson October, Socialist Alternative, and the National Bar Association.
