Letterhead, ca. 1935
Scope and Contents
One letterhead from the Meadow Brook Country Club signed by ten members of the Kay Kyser Orchestra comprises the collection. The page is undated but most likely dates to 1935. The following members of the Kay Kyser Orchestra signed the Meadowbrook Country Club letterhead for Betty Klemm: Jack Barrow (trombone), Lyman Gandee (pianist). Mem "Ish Kabibble" Bogue, Armand Buissaret (I Sax), Harry Breeding (II alto) "Sully" Mason, Lloyd Swon, "Muddy" Berry, Dick Barrie, and Kay Kyser. Kyser also signed “Thinking of You,” a song used as the orchestra’s theme song. All signatures are in pencil. Betty Holzhauer added the note in ink “with Jim Riner” later as reminder for herself about with whom she had seen the orchestra.
