Letter signed Flora Byrne, Byrnham Wood, to My dear Eliza [Mrs. Charles F. Mayer, Franklin Street, Baltimore, Maryland]. I feel that news of the “Missouri settlers” will be well received. Our cabin is built of the best logs and though it boats no ceiling, the roof is weather tight. Describes her home and its ornaments. Asks for news of various members of the family. We did not remain long in St. Louis but intend to return in January and deliver the letters which Mr. Mayer furnished us. Individuals mentioned include Mammy Moore, Poors, Mrs. Burnap, Mrs. Skinner, Mary Spear, Lord Wellesley, Miss Pardoc, Henry, Mr. Mayer, Annie, Mother, and Edmund. Places mentioned include Missouri, St. Louis, Virginia, and Ohio. (4 pages), [1839] Nov 10
