Scope and Content Note The collection is arranged chronologically and is comprised primarily of correspondence written by Frank Mitchell to Edna Kessler from 1917 to 1919. There are discharge papers for Frank Mitchell (1921) and his grandfather, Joseph C. Mitchell (1861-1865), and marriage certificates for Frank’s parents (1888) and grandparents (1852). Scope and Contents

The Frank C. Mitchell Photograph Collection contains photographic portraits of Mitchell and his father Joseph C. Mitchell and wife Rebecca; U.S.S. El Sol, and unidentified groups (possibly Plumber's Associations). Panoramas in the collection include St. Louis Recruits, 1918; a dinner for Lt. Pease; sailors in front of U.S.S. El Sol; and numerous Plumbers Association gatherings from the 1920s.
