Collection consists primarily of correspondence to Rachel and Daniel Edson from the families of her brothers Cotton Tower (in Indiana) and Hull Tower (in Oregon). Collection also includes an issue of the Bethany Weekly Union, April 3, 1862; a receipt of Henry M. Russ, March 1, 1856; and an undated document listing births in the Russ family from 1867 to 1906.

Scope and Contents The William Greenleaf Eliot Papers consist of sermons, addresses, family papers, correspondence, Civil War documents, and documents regarding Eliot's church and other organizations. The papers contain minutes and reports of various organizations of St. Stephen’s Church, such as the Men’s Club and Girls’ Friendly Society; financial records of the church; items relating to church musical and theatrical performances; correspondence, mostly of Reverend Henry Mizner; items relating to St. Stephen’s-in-the-Hills; papers regarding health services; items regarding church members, and newspaper clippings regarding the church.
