Charlois Lumpkin Photograph Collection
Scope and Contents
The Charlois Lumpkin Photograph Collection contains four digital prints of scanned images related to the Lumpkin family and the Mill Creek Valley neighborhood. Photos show the 1938 wedding of Charles L. Lumpkin (1913-1998) and Lois Ellen Newman (1914-2007) at St. Paul AME Church in Mill Creek Valley; the Newman/Woodard family at St. Paul AME Church in Mill Creek Valley; a composite portrait showing members of the executive committee of the St. Louis branch of the NAACP, ca. 1935; and members of the Missouri Socialists.

Digital copies and item-level records of select images are posted as they are created and can be accessed through the Online Collections on the Missouri Historical Society website (mohistory.org/collections).
Digitized images are generated from the original item whenever possible and files are adjusted only to ensure an accurate representation. Master files are saved in TIF format and JPEG viewing files are automatically generated from the master files.
