Clodfelter Family Collection
Scope and Contents
The Clodfelter Family Collection contains 11 photographs showing the family of Jackson Medler Clodfelter and Mary Louise Stout Clodfelter-Berry at home in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Photographs primarily depict Mary Louise and children David and Howard, showing them at play, opening Christmas presents, and posing with a carved Halloween pumpkin. At least some of these photographs were taken during the time that Jackson was serving overseas. Photographs also include a portrait of Jackson posed in uniform while serving in Korea and two photographs of Mary Louise as a young girl.

Biographical / Historical
Jackson Medler Clodfelter was born on October 23, 1934. He served in the U.S. Army Security Agency (ASA), the Army's signal intelligence branch, during the Vietnam War. He achieved the rank of E7, Sergeant First Class - Radio Communications. He served from 1957-1977 and was stationed in Japan, Korea, and Germany. He returned to the Illinois area after his honorable discharge.
Mary Louise Stout Clodfelter-Berry was born on December 16, 1937 in Richland County, Illinois, the daughter of Lester Rae Stout and Mary Elsie Stout. She married Jackson Medler Clodfelter on August 14, 1955 in Richland County. Mary Louise later became a registered nurse. Jackson preceded her death on January 18, 2005. On June 30, 2007, she married Monty Berry of Berryville, Illinois. Mary Louise died on February 13, 2013 at Richland Memorial Hospital.
