Rev. B.T. Rice: Transcript (22 pp.). Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon appointed Rev. Rice to the initial Missouri Foundation for Health board of directors in November 2000. He was senior pastor of New Horizon Seventh Day Christian Church and served on several boards of community groups in St. Louis. Rev. Rice explained how he was interviewed and appointed to the board from recommendations from Gov. Gertrude (Trudi) M. Scott (1949- ): Transcript (23 pp.). Scott was elected to the Foundation board in December 2002 to complete two years of a term vacated by a resigning board member; she served through 2007. She was a nurse practitioner and coordinator of the Children’s Clinical Outreach Services for Cox Health Systems in Springfield, Missouri. She discussed leadership within the board; tension with the CAC; the Foundation’s relationship to the attorney general; and a meeting with Jay Nixon about making the Foundation independent of state government.
