Document regarding theft of certain articles from home of Thomas Smith by an Osage Indian in St. Charles. On November 2, Smith was away from his home and upon return found his house broken open and seven items missing; yesterday one of the items was found on a certain Osage Indian, who returned one coat; the Indian was taken before Francis Duquette, one of the Justices of the Peace; Smith was sent for and identified the coat; other stolen items were in the Indian’s home.
