Letter signed Tho. Swords, New York, to Major Jno. Dougherty. I am under orders for California and expect to start as soon as my accounts are settled at the Treasury. He also suggests a division of the property and I am inclined to agree rather than have him file suit which will be an expense to all concerned. Browne, and N.J. Alexander. Places mentioned: Fort Leavenworth, California, Iatan, and Missouri., 1856 June 25
