Letter signed Jno. G. Shultz, Iatan, to Major Dougherty. Since you left nothing has been done on the mill though they promise as sturdily as ever. Send you blank deed for your signature for 1/3 of 1/4 fraction to which I have so often called your attention. I feel that I have a right to what I claim though you may feel differently. I have realized for some time that my share in the partnership has not been considered as highly as Swords’ and I would leave the matter to the arbitration of disinterested parties. I have always striven to push Iatan and will not cease in my efforts to do so. I do not write this letter to cause you offense in any way but only claim what I feel is my right.
