Letter signed Julia Kennett, St. Louis, to daughter [Mrs. T.G. Kent]. Latty is not so well today and is in a bad humor to boot. They sent word to send the baby down to the General’s today and she won’t let him go as the Genl. cut up so about the christening. He asked Hetty what in the devil they were doing up here, that it was a hell of a christening not to ask anybody to it. She says if she has 40 children not one of the family shall ever be invited., 1878 June 28
