Letter signed Julia Kennett, St. Louis, to daughter [Agnes Brent?]. Madge is at her sister’s, has been over 3 times but the weather is too bad to bring her baby out. She brought Jule once. I send for Sally’s baby tomorrow to keep and wean. Ferd is going to move, the house is so damp and smokes so badly. It makes my heart ache to see Ferd so poor and uncomfortable. Latty and I are happy about Belah and Vi confirmed and making their first communion (today) for they have been of little service or comfort to us since they began to be instructed. Lilly cried for you the other. Latty is giving Dicky condensed milk. Dr. Papin advised it. [Madge is 2nd wife of James White Kennett]., 1877 Dec 30
