Letter signed John Latty, Shibboleth, to Kennett. Sam, man enslaved to Col. Kennett estate, has not been seen here since Sunday and the presumption is that he has gone into some camp of Federal soldiers in this vicinity. I conclude this from the fact that others have done so. We are getting very little mineral, nearly all mines have gone into Federal or state service. We intend to smelt next month., 1862 Sept 9
