Letter signed Frost, Fort Lookout, to Lily. I am growing impatient with the delay in establishing the new posts. Promises of living differently when I return home, knowing you will say this is an old song of mine. High praise for Fr. DeSmet and the work he is doing in the missionary field; the veneration of Flat Heads have for him. I hope he will be appointed bishop for all this country. Gen. Harney is awaiting new assignment; the Sioux war is ended; Harney has accomplished a great deal. Our Indian trade has turned out well, having already shipped to Col.
