Letter signed John P. Sebree, Jefferson City, to Colonel [Newton G. Elliott]. I think we had better close out our stock by the first of June. My reason for thinking so is that by that time the whole thing of restoring the Union will be abandoned, and then no one will be willing to take Greenback, and when that is the case you know that mules that are now worth $100 will not be worth $50. Writes on national politics. We have managed tolerably well here in beating John B. Henderson B.G. Brown and others; and I hope we shall be able to manage as well in beating an emancipation act.
