Letter signed Ramsay Crooks, New York, to Thomas Forsyth, regarding your land at Long Point. At one time this last winter I thought the Indian Department would have been much reduced and reorganized. Major O'Fallon was talked to seriously and I know he strongly advocated your being retained in service. Nothing will be done, however, at this session and whatever new regulations may be adopted for the trade your department will not, in my opinion, be molested. I shall be in St. Louis in May and expect to see you. (Appended: Letter signed Samuel Abbott, New York, to Thomas Forsyth. Your description of the lot was not satisfactory. I expect to be in St. Louis in May.), 1822 Mar 21
