Document signed George Collier, to Jno. Finney, Administrator of estate of Alexander McAlister. Take notice that Alexander McAlister having conveyed to me in fee simple the tract of land on which I now live, being the tract located by virtue of a New Madrid certificate issued to Eustace Peltier. Said tract contains 160 acres from which was reserved four acres for the Catholic burying ground, and the said McAlister conveyed to me another tract of land adjoining the before said tract, both being in the County of St. Louis. Marianne Stokes, widow of William Stokes, deceased, has commenced a suit against me in the Circuit Court of St. Louis County to recover her dower in said land. You are notified to defend the said action and that I will claim the McAlister estate damages of whatever may be recovered of the Stokes suit.
