Mr. Brown Cozzens is in the act of enclosing a portion of my land, purchased by me 2 or 3 years since from Edward Baber, his mother and sister, as heirs of E. Hempstead. It is an unprincipled Yankee contrivance between Cozzens and Ames of St. Louis to induce me to sell a portion to Ames for a race track. I wish you to institute action against them.
