Letter signed H.S. Geyer, New Orleans, to H.R. Gamble, St. Louis. We contemplate leaving here on the Missourian which arrived last night. Captain Swan promises to leave here in time to reach St. Louis by Sunday the 24th. Yet, judging from the past there is reason to fear that he may not fulfill his promises, and it may be he will not be at St. Louis before the middle of the first week of Court. I request you and other members of the bar to indulge me so far as not to press any business in which I may be concerned until my arrival. No shopping as yet because of the weather, but the husbands need not congratulate themselves on that account. There may be some time yet. (3 pages), 1833 Mar 7
