Doubts if the bill will pass the Senate. Has learned that he [the writer] has three antagonists. “Perhaps it would be prudent to let it be known in the papers before long that I shall again be a candidate.” The session will end May 26th “and yet everything of real business is to do.” Still hopes to get through the bill for the sale of the lead mines, and for the completion of the survey of the western boundary of Missouri.
