Copy of letter signed John F. Darby to the Editor of the Times. Comments on a piece in the Times in which Colonel Stephens was quoted as saying that if Darby had either heard him or read the manuscript he would not have troubled the Republican with a communication that is garrulous and a studied distortion and misrepresentation of the facts. Darby states he quoted Col. Stephens’ speech as printed in the Republican and reported in the Globe-Democrat. He has always had good relations with Mr. Allen and did him full and ample justice.
