Rough draft of letter signed John F. Darby, St. Louis, Missouri, to Samuel Copp, Secretary of the Bellefontaine Cemetery. Replies very heatedly to letter asking for Darby’s resignation as a trustee. Darby refuses and recites his role as an original incorporator of the cemetery association, a director from the beginning, and its first president. Darby persuaded the Board to purchase the land from Mr. Kennett, and contributed several thousand dollars towards the purchase. Recent infirmities have prevented him from attending some meetings.
