Mrs. Bennett is there, telling everyone that Mrs. Carlin has sued her. Mrs. Carlin lost her property in New Orleans because Mrs. Bennett would not cooperate/give her money. Mrs. Bennett has been staying in a tenement house with low Irish but left there, looking like a beggar.
