Letter signed Wilson Primm, Jefferson City, to John F. Darby, St. Louis. Regarding legislative business at Jefferson City, including the signing of the Hallelujah Resolution, the defeat of Geyer’s Bank Resolution, and Strother’s declaration that it is inexpedient to charter a State Bank at the current session of the legislature. Also writes that it was decided not to incorporate the principle of the writer’s resolution into the City Charter. In fact, they refused to grant the exclusive right to the City to suppress gaming. Yesterday the revised City Charter was read a third time and passed. It introduced a bill providing for the sale of the St. Louis Common.
