Historical Sketch
The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America St. Louis Chapter (AAFA-STL) is one of four chapters in the organization. It was established in 1981 by two allergists, Dr. Raymond Slavin and Dr. Phillip Korenblat, and Marylin Horst, a Medical Social Worker at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center. The chapter founded Project Concern, later known as BREATH, to provide life-saving asthma and allergy medications, equipment and support. This program serves uninsured and underinsured children and expanded its services to reach families, schools and nurses in Missouri and Illinois
