The collection consists of political mailers used in Skip Mange’s campaign for the special election for the St. Louis County Council District 3 seat held on 5 February 2002. Mange won the election, defeating opponent Annette Mandel.

Biographical Sketch

Richard C. “Skip” Mange graduated from Brentwood High School in 1958 and Washington University, he served for four years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a 2nd Lieutenant. After a successful career in the construction and residential development industry, Mange retired to become a high school math and science teacher. He retired again and became involved in civic affairs. After serving as mayor of Town and Country from1999 to 2002, Mange was elected to the St. Louis County Council in 2002
