Scope and Contents

The collection consists of a preservation photocopy of the items as they appeared in frame and the damaged ephemeral items removed from the frame: Muny tickets stubs, Pope's Cafeteria matchbook, flier for the Admiral riverboat, gum wrappers, and a pumpkin seed packet. The items were found in a frame and sustained a lot of damage. Only the Muny stubs and Admiral flier are dated; 29 July 1937 and 1938, respectively.

Historical Sketch

The collection was found behind a radiator heat shield in a neighborhood church, the St. Louis Dream Center at 4324 Margaretta Avenue, by Mark Jones. He donated the items in recognition of Carole Gates, an elderly neighborhood resident who was also a member of the church.
