Alfred Klein was born May 1, 1897, in Hungary to Simon Klein and Mollie Mitleider. He served in the United States Army during World War I from September 6 to December 22, 1918, and in World War II until his discharge on April 2, 1943. He married Rose Landers in the 1950s, and they were together until her death in 1967. Alfred Klein died January 28, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri. His nephew Wallace Klein was born December 30, 1923, in St. Louis to Carl Klein and Lillian Cytron. He served in World War II, enlisting in the Reserve Corps from 1942 to 1943, where he was stationed at Camp Crowder in Missouri and Camp Callan in California, until called to active service until 1945. He was stationed in Luxembourg, Germany, England, and France. After the war, he worked as a foreign language teacher. He married Jane Herbst in 1950, and the couple had two children, Margaret and Carla.
