Biographical Sketch

Jeff Wunrow was born in St. Louis in 1967. He is a gay activist and a liturgical artist. From 1994 to 2004, Wunrow served as executive director of the Privacy Rights Education Project (PREP, renamed PROMO), Missouri's preeminent lesbian and gay political advocacy organization. Since 2005, he has operated Jeff Wunrow Designs, based in the Soulard neighborhood, which ships liturgical textiles worldwide.

Wunrow was featured in the Advocate, a major national LGBTQ magazine, on two occasions: 1999 August 17 and 2002 August 20. The 17 August 1999 issue highlighted "Our Best and Brightest Activists." It listed Jeff Wunrow among this group, including a photo and short profile. The 20 August 2002 issue featured an article on the campaign to overturn Missouri's sexual misconduct statute. The article featured a photograph of Wunrow posing in front of a PROMO banner and quoted Wunrow and other St. Louis area activists.
