Historical Sketch

On August 8, 2019, St. Louis Public Radio and Cheeraz Gormon presented a storytelling event at the Greater St. Mark Family Church to commemorate the death of Michael Brown, Jr. and the subsequent events in Ferguson, Missouri, in 2014. Five storytellers took part in the event: Aziza Binti; Dannie Boyd; Gregory Carr, Sr.; Kristian Blackmon; and Cat “Mama Cat” Daniels. Cheeraz Gormon and Chad Davis were presenters. Cheeraz Gormon is a native St. Louisan, a poet, and founder and director of the Sibling Support Network. Her book, In the Midst of Loving, was released in 2015.
