Historical Sketch

In the spring and summer of 1979, in connection with a planned exhibit for the 75th anniversary of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, several Missouri Historical Society employees conducted oral history interviews with local residents who had attended the LPE in 1904. The interviews were audiotaped and some transcribed. When the project was completed the tapes and transcriptions were placed in the Archives to be made accessible to the public.
