Missouri Highway Department Highway Plans
Scope and Contents
The Missouri Highway Department Highway Plans Collection consists of plans and profiles of proposed state roads, which the commission prepared between 1945 and 1971. The plans include sections of Interstates 44, 55 and 70, Route 66, and Highway 40 (Daniel Boone Expressway). The bulk of the plans cover areas within the City of St. Louis, although some cover areas in St. Louis County.

Donor Information
The Missouri Highway Department Highway Plans Collection was donated to the Missouri Historical Society by the Missouri Department of Transportation, courtesy of Craig Fosterling. The initial donation came in 1995 (95-0067). An additional donation of 47 plans of Highway 40, from Lindbergh to Tamm, came in 1997 (1997.230).
