Historical Sketch
Girard P. Brownlow, Jr., began publication of St. Louis Magazine in May 1963. Brownlow served as both president and publisher of the magazine until May 1968, when the magazine was purchased by the Twin Citian, a monthly publication in Minnesota. The magazine ceased publication in December 1969. Editorially, the St. Louis Magazine focused on events and activities in and around St. Louis of special interest to the educated, affluent and influential segment of the population, featuring articles on fashion, homes, local personalities, sports, business life and civic activities.
