Calling to your attention the fact that a number of officers in the first Cavalry are not only disloyal to the Provisional Govt. of Mo., but are actually conspiring its overthrow. Enclosed is a list of names furnished me by Capt. Ballinger, one of the most truly reliable officers in the service. I recommend Norton B. Johnson, orderly sergeant in Co. ., who was the only man in his Co. who voted the conservative ticket. For further particulars I refer you to Capt. Comingo. Individuals mentioned include Capt.
