- Hamilton Rowan Gamble Papers | Letter signed C.C. Bailey, St. Louis, to Gov. Gamble. Gov. Hall has a bad felon on his finger. Col. Broadhead and Judge Breckenridge are recommending Barton Able for county judge to fill vacancy occasioned by death of Mr. Holmes. I suppose you will hardly appoint him, and have intimated that you would prefer to have the matter rest until your return. I did not forward your order regarding Mr. Edgar as you requested me not to.
