- Hamilton Rowan Gamble Papers | Letter signed E. Anson More, Q.M. Genl., St. Louis, to Gov. H.R. Gamble. Repairing arms is quite an expense, cost of repairs last year being $2500. I can procure a suitable shop, hire a suitable man and do the work cheaper. I have frequent calls from parties holding vouchers on Maj. Greely asking when they will be paid. About $15,000 in greenbacks would release the pressure. Gov. Hall has been in Jefferson City since last Saturday. Individuals mentioned include Maj. [Carlos S. Greeley] Greely, Gov. Willard P. Hall.
