- Hamilton Rowan Gamble Papers | Letter signed Jas. O. Broadhead, St. Louis, to Hon. H.R. Gamble. Retracting recommendation of Warmoth to Col. of McClory’s Regiment. I have learned he is not reliable. I have seen a letter to a friend in St. Louis from an intelligent member of the Legislature announcing the design of the radicals to pass a revolutionary act deposing the Governor. Summarizing the plan, the possible results, etc. One favor I ask of you concerns Mr. Allin of Lafayette, a member of the House, who is anxious to get the position of Brig. Genl. of the Enrolled Militia in some part of the state. Individuals mentioned include Warmoth, McClory, Thomas H. Allin. (3 pages), 1863 Feb 18
