- Hamilton Rowan Gamble Papers | Letter signed H.R. Gamble, St. Louis, to Honorable Edwin M. Stanton, Secretary of War. Writes concerning the 13th Regiment of Missouri Volunteers which was originally formed by the voluntary union of certain companies recruited in Ohio with certain other companies recruited in Missouri. They are now trying to turn over the whole regiment to the state of Ohio and call it the 22nd Ohio. There is great dissatisfaction on the part of members of the regiment. Asks that these Missouri companies be restored to the service as Missouri troops. Individuals mentioned include Colonel Wright and Lieutenant Colonel St. James.
